Student acknowledgement of responsibility and liability when participating in an off campus Sheridan Co-Curricular Activity
Sheridan expects students who are participating in a Sheridan Co-Curricular Record activity taking place off campus at an external organization to:
continue to uphold Sheridan’s Student Code of Conduct for the duration of their participation in the activity
behave in a professional manner at all times which is representative of standard workplace conduct and performance;
abide by the policies and procedures of the external organization which includes following the host organization’s procedures on handling confidential information;
abide by Sheridan’s policies and procedures and;
advise the activity leader of the Sheridan Co-Curricular activity of any concerns they have or problems they encounter as they relate to work assignments and environmental issues as soon as they arise.
A Sheridan students’ understanding of their assumption of risks when participating in a Sheridan Co-Curricular Record activity taking place off campus at an external organization is as follows:
I understand that my participation in a Sheridan Co-Curricular Record activity taking place off campus:
is voluntary and I accept and fully assume all risks, dangers, hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss I sustain, howsoever caused, during my participation in this activity;
may involve not being directly supervised by the Sheridan staff member who is the Co-Curricular Record activity leader.
